Recruitment /
Scheduling Coordinator
Personal contact is the
most effective way of persuading others to donate blood. To be an effective recruiter,
familiarize yourself with blood donation. Visiting the Blood Center's headquarters is a
great way to learn. Know the basic eligibility requirements, what the donation process
involves, and why people may be nervous about donating. Keep in mind that the main reason
people don't donate blood is because they haven't been asked!
Set up a table
in the cafeteria and other well-traveled areas, ask everyone you see. Distribute
information and permission forms.

Schedule donors for a
specific time slot. You will receive the details of the schedule from your Blood Center
representative.
Let people know that
walk-in donors are welcome, but they run the risk of having to wait.
As you sign up and
schedule donors, fill out a reminder slip for each. On the day before the blood drive,
distribute reminder slips.
Remind students to
bring a picture I.D. to the drive.
Call your Blood
Center representative. Keep in touch regarding the amount of people signed up.
