Local 4-H Clubs Vie for Community Service Traditionally, 4-H Clubs have been a great outlet for kids of all ages. By participating in 4-H, one can learn leadership, economic skills and responsibility. Each club participates in a variety of community service projects, like picking up litter along the highways and parks. This December, Community Blood Services of Illinois will be working with two local 4-H Clubs on community service projects. The Morgan Mities 4-H Club from Charleston will sponsor a blood drive on Thursday, December 9th and the Oakland Oak Leaves 4-H Club from Oakland will sponsor a blood drive on Tuesday, December 28th. The Morgan Mities 4-H Club was honored last year for their community service. This is their first blood drive with Community Blood Services. The Oakland Oak Leaves 4-H Club held their first blood drive with Community Blood Services last year and were also honored for their community service work. Community Blood Services of Illinois is proud to work with these groups on projects that will help the community by ensuring a safe and adequate blood supply. We ask the communities in which these groups are located to help them reach their goals by donating blood.
