Flu Shots

We are pleased to report that flu shots will not create problems with the infectious disease tests we perform on donated blood! In past years the vaccine made some of our donors test "false positive" on certain tests — a real hassle for blood donors and blood bankers alike. The manufacturers of the reagents we use in our tests have assured us that there should be no such problem this year. If you choose to have a flu shot, feel free to donate blood after 24 hours have elapsed.
