Kevin Longinotti Blood Drive Results

Forty-six units of blood were collected at the Army ROTC Kevin Longinotti National Blood Drive that was held on Friday, April 9th. As you may remember from last month's Bloodlines, Kevin was an Army ROTC cadet at Vanderbilt University. He was killed during the tornadoes that swept through Nashville last year. His mother and Vanderbilt University asked Army ROTC units across the United States to sponsor blood drives in Kevin's memory on or around April 16, 1999.

Sadly, the night before the blood drive, severe thunderstorms swept through our local area, producing tornadoes that killed two people. The blood drive held in honor of a young man who lost his life due to nature's fury and learning of the tragedies that occurred the night before were sobering reminders of how precious life is.

Thank you to all who helped with the blood drive! The blood drive was a great success and we look to make it an annual event. Every unit collected represents a life-saving gift to a patient in need.
